UPDATE August 27, 2019

The competition will take place in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada from January 17-19, 2020.

This is an open competition, so no qualifying events will be required.  All WBTF IC Cup individual events will be offered (1 Baton, 2 Baton, 3 Baton, Artistic Twirl), along with Artistic Pairs, Team, and Group.

Entries will be done by the country officials, and the entry deadline is set for October 1, 2019.  It needs to be this early so that we can determine how to organize and structure the event.

This event includes a 9 to 11 age division.  Your age is determined by how old you are on the last day of the competition.  The minimum age is 9 years old as of January 19, 2020. There will not be a 3-baton event for the 9 to 11 age division.

There will be an "open" division, and an "elite" division.  If an athlete has medalled in the elite  division at International Cup, he or she must enter the elite division - entry in the open division is prohibited for these athletes.   All other athletes should consult the International Cup Guidelines for the level they should enter for the open division or elite division.  There will be no content restrictions at this competition except for Groups. (Groups must follow IC “B” level content restrictions; See the IC manual)

Competition set up will be on the Thursday, January 16, 2020.  Start time will be at 9:00 a.m. on Friday (can be moved to 8:00 a.m. if necessary).  There will be a brief opening ceremony on the Friday and competition will start immediately after the floor is set up for competition.  It is hoped the days will be over by about 7:00 p.m. each night.
The WBTF structure of using two rounds (preliminary and final)  will be in place for this competition.  On Sunday, there will be awards, the parade of countries and closing ceremonies at the end of the day.

**Keep an eye open for updates

The fee structure is pre-set by the WBTF and will be as follows:  There will be an administration fee of $18.50 CAD per athlete, to offset insurance and administrative expenses of running the competition.   There will be no admission fees to attend the competition, so, for example, parents do not need to purchase tickets to watch.

There will be a program fee of $13.50 CAD for all athletes.  The cost is $20.00 CAD for all coaches and spectators.

The entry fee is $50.00 USD per event for individual events.  For artistic twirl pairs, it is $50.00 USD each per pair member.  For team and groups, it is $25.00 USD each per team or group member.

Each country will send in one full entry package to the organizers, containing all forms, etc. for all of their participants.  You must stay at the host hotel, no exceptions.  A rooming list must also be supplied.  No medical certificate will be required.  A valid passport is required for age and identity purposes.  There will be the ability to pay with credit card or pay pal.
